Great big tree Oh, great big tree, how did you grow so tall? I can only stand for a moment before I lose myself and fall. Oh, when you lose your leaves, do you not lose yourself in a way? I feel my soul slipping through my fingers every single day. Oh, do your limbs feel weak, after holding them up for years? I try to hold my chin up and yet it's still weighed down by fear. Oh, the winters when you freeze, do you not feel discouraged? I cry just thinking that I could perhaps never again flourish. Oh, when the winds grieve, does it hurt as they thrash your build? I break as I know I've lost those who carried my heart's spill. Oh, the butterflies and bees, do you not rely on them to keep you alive? I grind my teeth knowing I've lost all my strength through this fight. Oh, great big tree, how did you grow so high? I tried to reach the top of your leaves and watched my life pass by.
